About Me

About Me

I am a Marine Engineer who has worked in the cruise industry for over 8 years.  I started out as an Engineering Cadet with one of world largest cruise companies and worked through my certification right up until gaining my Chief Engineers Licence.  Marine Engineering is a very diverse subject and we study a range of subjects from naval architecture and ship stability, and also things like power generation, propulsion systems and even air conditioning and sewage treatment.  I have experienced cruising when seas are calm and machinery is running well, and also when things haven’t gone to plan.  As our cruise ships continue to grow in both size and passenger numbers I hope to keep you informed of the different challenges we face and new technologies which keep these mega ships sailing.  Please drop me an email if you have any particular questions or article requests or you wish me to elaborate on any topic.
